The Most Important thing to Know about Curing Panic attacks

Are you ready? Are you really ready? I am about to tell you the single most important thing about Panic Attacks. It is so simple yet if you know this before, during and after a panic attack or anxiety attack you will begin to see them dissipate from your life.

Panic attack suffers will go through an intense string of physical mental and emotional reactions when they have an attack. You probably are familiar with the common symptoms.

Sweating Anxious rapid thoughts Constriction of breathing Rapid heart rate Dizziness Knots and deep unease in stomach Heart pain Tingling And other such symptoms

Now these symptoms are our built in reaction to danger. It is just that we have turned this reaction on ourselves. And we are our own predators. The truth is we cause our own panic attacks. This is important to know but it is not the most important.

Like any predator to capture a prey you need to have power over them. The predator must assert dominance using physical force or other methods that can control the prey and contain it. Now here comes the key for panic attack suffers. If your predator (the panic attack) cannot dominate and control you then it cannot overwhelm you.

So let’s look at this attacker. Unlike a lion, a panic attack does not have sharp claws and teeth. The main and only weapon, of a Panic Attack is its ability to make you feel as if are going to die.

That is its only weapon. The panic attack can dominate you ONLY when you think it is strong enough to kill you.  And here are the scientific undisputable facts. No one has EVER died from a panic attack.

You might say, “Really?”

Yes. No one has ever died from a panic attack.

And there it is. The most important thing to know about panic attacks is that no matter how intense they are, or how intense the physical and emotional feelings are. YOU CANNOT DIE.

Now think about a panic attack and how clever it is that it uses different responses of the body to trigger the feeling of dying.

Rapid heart rate and tingling in the arm is its cleaver way of saying you are having a heart attack.

By constricting the breathing it imitates the feeling of suffocation.

Racing thoughts and you think you are going crazy.

Wow, what a clever attacker. But, Hmmm if we look at the fact that nobody has ever died from a panic attack than this is really just crying wolf. The panic attack has no real weapons so it relies on you being scared that it will kill you.

Over and over again you play into the cycle. The Panic attack comes on with all the usual symptoms and you cry out, “Please, please don’t kill me. Go away I will do anything!” And the weaponless attacker has won.

Imagine, for a moment, you were a security guard at a bank when a person with a scary mask walks in and attempts to rob your bank with what appears to be a machine gun. Everyone is terrified including you. You are frozen and just want the attacker to leave without killing anyone. Well what if you were not scared just long enough to notice that the machine gun was a plastic toy. Would you continue to be terrified if it were a toy gun and you had a real gun in your holster?

The truth is even though your panic attacks seem to have real weapons, they don’t. Even though it will try to get you when you would least want them like at work, a crowded elevator or a train, they still only have the power your give it.

Take a moment and really take a good look at your panic attacks. If they have absolutely no way they can kill you then they really have no power.

Of course to this point you have believed that they could kill you. But, when you really understand and take in the truth about panic attacks you will be on the road to letting them dissipate like a small cloud in front of the sun.
