It was a ploy to raise the prices and sales of guns and ammunition. Inducing a panic about prohibition is an easy way to increase the sales of an item.

Lying is very common in politics.
It is an enduring plank of the democratic party that we should have very strict gun control laws which would contravene the second amendment. Does that make it fair to “rant” about what the democratic party says they wish to do? The democrats ranted for years that President Bush would make us an theocracy. The difference is there are facts backing Republican complaints about the democrats.

Was the panic justified? To an extent yes. The most anti-gun, second amendment hating, crook for the corrupt city if Chicago, somehow managed to get himself elected President of the US. The fears were founded but with a House controlled by Republicans for the rest of his one term, those fears can now subside a little.
Justified and he and his scum bag partner Eric Holder haven’t given up although they were shut down for a while. Our guns are one of the few things between us and a liberal communist/socialist dictatorship. Once disarmed we would be somewhat at their mercy so it will never happen as most are onto the liberal agenda.
